Hi, I’ve tried to use balenaEtcher to put a Clonezilla iso image on a 128GB USB Key. The image downloaded has both MD5 and SHA signatures ok, so the file is ok. Mac OS X version is 10.14.6. balenaEtcher version is 1.5.111 I’ve tried many combination of formatting or partitioning the Key (exFat). I’ve tried in launching balenaEtcher both via GUI and command line; in command line I’ve tried with normal user privileges, via SUDO and also launching the app with the root user. The result is always the same: a message telling “_Attention Something went wrong. If it is a compressed image, please check that the archive is not corrupted. The writer process ended unexpectedly_” Anybody can help me? Hi there, Thanks for including the error log straight away! I spotted this: ```auto "EBUSY: resource busy or locked, open '/dev/rdisk2'" ``` which suggests the USB key is either being used by another process, or it’s a permissions error. Using `sudo` would have been my next suggestion, but you have already tried that. I would probably see if I could find anything else accessing that drive (e.g. antivirus) and close those processes. If that still didn’t work, then I would probably reboot my machine and try afresh. Let us know if any of those help, otherwise we’ll try and dig deeper. Phil ---

Never mind - I just booted into windows and used a different tool (rufus) which worked flawlessly. I hope the next version of Etcher works like the older versions which I have never had an issue with. ---

I agree: me too with older versions of balenaEtcher didn’t had any problem on Mac OS, but a nasty bug can always arise. Since I’m not in a hurry, instead of going to another software, I’ll try to help the balenaEtcher team to solve this issue testing the problem and giving them all the info I can. This just to thank them indirectly for the precious work they are doing in giving us a helpful free software. ---

Thank you so much @lonewolf for assisting us to improve ourselves and provide a great experience to the Etcher users. We’ve managed to reproduce this behavior. It’s a transient error, retrying opening the file after a slight delay fixes it. We are working on fixing it in the next release and we’ll keep you posted. Best, Georgia ---

Sorry, I don’t understand what do you mean when you say “try re-opening the file drive after a short delay”. I’ve tried to: 1. Open balenaEtcher 2. Select the iso file 3. wait a couple of minutes 4. reselect the file 5. Select the drive 6. wait a couple of minutes 7. reselect the file 8. Try to burn The result is always the same ---

Had same problem. Worked once I went under System Preferences -\> Security & Privacy -\> Privacy tab -\> Full Disk Access, and then added balena to the list. Hopefully this will help others that experience similar problems. ---

Same problem here - Etcher 1.19.25 on an M4 Mac Mini running Sequoia. On both the arm64 and x64 builds, with two different SD card readers and two different brands of card, I get the same error as above - cannot write successfully to a card at all. Raspberry PI Imager works fine to flash the same files with the same hardware.
