# error to flash ubuntu

when I flash ubuntu in my usb pen it says: “The writer process ended unexpectedly.” why? what can I do??

Hi, just to be sure: you’re running balenaEtcher v1.5.101 on Ubuntu 20.10? You can check the version in the settings.  
If not, I’d suggest trying with that and if the issue still rises, open the dev.tools console with `cmd + opt + i` and paste here the logs so we can take a look at them.

Could you share the output of trying to run the command with `sudo` please? It’s unclear whether the issue is the admin access or not.
