# Can we add a .dtbo (max9860.dtbo) file to an already deployed device ?

Hello,

Is it possible to add a .dtbo file to an existing remote device through the Balena dashboard or API ?

Hi, that is unfortunately not possible. However, you can open a pull request with the dtbo to the specific device repository and we will review it and include it in future balenaOS releases. What device type are we referring to?

Hi, just following up here. If you want me to point you to a balena repository to PR the device tree overlay please let me know the device type you are working with.
