Hi!

I follow the install guide for balena sound…

It was really easy to get the device up and running.
It also shows up as a speaker in spotify, however it skips the tracks when I try to play.
Additional info: I can play songs by connecting to the raspberry 3b as a bluetooth device.

Some code from the console:
[2022 WARN librespot\_playback::player] Unable to load \<SpotifyId { id: (idnumber), audio\_type: Track }\>
spotify Skipping to next track

Hey,

That’s really interesting - just to clarify a bit more when you say it skips tracks when you try to play, do you mean that it skips the first track and then continues to skip subsequent ones, or just that it skips the first track selected?

Can you also let me know what version of BalenaOS you’re running and I’ll have a go at replicating the issue.

It is an endless loop of skipping. Not just the first step.

I’ve had the same problem for a couple of months now. Have not been able to find a solution; [Spotify constantly skipping songs](https://forums.balena.io/t/spotify-constantly-skipping-songs/353546)

@skyfree-sunday + @repdk

Hey all,

I just built a fresh balenaSound setup using the latest from the repo, but with a Raspberry Pi 4 (I started with a Pi4 since that was the tag from the linked post-- shoulda started with 3) and everything worked fine. I flipped through a number of songs using Spotify Connect off my iPhone and PC.

I’m reproducing with a Pi 3 now.

Are you all still experiencing these issues?

UPDATE: Also works with my Raspberry pi 3 on the same fleet. balenaOS 2.98.33, Supervisor version 12.10.3

Looking forward to any additional info we can work with.

Hi! Hope I’m not to late for this thread.
I’ve had the same problem for a cuple months now. I tried to fix it when the problem first appeared, but had no luck. Today I decided to pick it up and try to fix it again. I read some places that this problem wasn’t exlusive for Balenasound.
People using volumio have the same problem. I olso fount out that this problem occurs in a cuple european countries, like sweden, denmark and Norway (I’m from Norway).

Hope this additional info helps!
Keep me posted!

Thanks for sharing this observation with us @obrend ! We’re going to look into it further and see if we are facing similar problems.
