# Balena API create new devices

Hi I’ve been looking at Balena API to check if our services can interact with balenaCloud directly. However, I couldn’t see resource that allow third party to create new devices via the API: [Resources - Balena Documentation](https://docs.balena.io/reference/api/resources/device/)

Am I looking at the right place? How can we create new devices from BalenaAPI?

Did you fix your issue?

Having said that, I have some questions for you:

- why would you like to create a new device via API?
- What’s the use case of this?
- How would you provision the device afterwards?

You can register a new device using the SDK, if i’m not wrong. [Check this](https://docs.balena.io/reference/sdk/node-sdk/#balena.models.device.register) and we can send you some examples.
