Can we get some guidance on porting the Balenalib UDEV functionality to other images? It would help a lot.

@joelscho here is a [link to the script](https://github.com/balena-io-library/base-images/blob/master/balena-base-images/aarch64/debian/buster/build/entry.sh) that was used by the balenalib base images for UDEV functionality. We haven’t documented this in our guide yet because we are looking into a more streamlined solution. In the meantime this script should hopefully get you started in the right direction.

I’d like to bump this request, as the “magic udev script” is required in order to get libcamera and picamera2 to work.

I should have a minimal working example repo soon, which I’m happy to contribute.

Any updates on the more streamlined solution?

We are looking to update our node version and currently the solution seems to be copy the linked `entry.sh` into each of our containers to use UDEV

@alanb128 any updates on supporting people to move away from the Balena base images?

We would like to upgrade our node version and ideally there would be an easy path that Balena can provide to support with moving away from base images. Otherwise we’ll manually add in the Udev rules ourselves.
